Petri 7s

Petri 7 S

"Highly sensitive " CIRCLE-EYE " photometer fully coupled to Precision Exposure System means Quality Pictures each time you shift the PETRI 7 toward the subject." About thirty years ago Petri was considered as a better than ordinary camera, which it really was. Very good Japanese quality and various excellent features did it. This Petsi was given to me by my good neighbour (those days) and a good friend Olli. Perhaps the main reason why he bought just a Petri was the name because his son is also named Petri. A common name in Finland, comes from Peter or Petronius in Latin.

Petri ES

Petri ES Auto

Again a camera which seems to be very hard to get information about. It seems to be fully working, because it had a battery when I got it and I was able to check it´s functions until the batteries went dead. I hope, that some day I have time to load this Petri with a film.

National NR52 batteries are not available anymore but you can use two PX625 batteries as a replacement. The Petri ES Auto is a good looking and compact 35mm rangefinder camera. It is heavy 520g compared to Minolta Hi Matic F or Konica Auto S3. But it certainly is a competitor to these cameras as to Canon Canonet 28, Samoca MR and Miranda Sensoret as well. The lens is C.C Petri, 1,7 /f=40mm. The shutter is electronic Seiko ESF. The camera is introduced in 1974 and the measures are 133x78x56mm.

Petri FT

Petri FT (1967)

Pentaprism  SLR camera with  built-in cross coupled CdS exposure meter in TTL system and again a new lens mount in my collection ! (I don't particularly collect lens mounts) This camera just practically walked in through my frontdoor. Otherwise Petri FT is quite an ordinary SLR camera from the late sixties. It resembles very much e.g. Yashica TL electro X and Praktika MTL

Lens: Petri 55mm f/1.8, 6 elements in 4 groups, coated, with fully automatic diaphragm, aperture stops down to f/16.
Shutter: Focal plane type with speeds of 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125,1/250 and 1/500 second and B. Dimensions: 142 x 93 x 88mm (5.5 x 3.5 x 3.4 inches)
Weight: 910 g. (32 oz.)
